Mission: Guatemala
Latest Blog Entry
April 14 - 21, 2012 - WOW! From April 14th to 21st, our MKI team, alongside a 16-member medical team from Duke University, will be changing the lives of 40-50 kids in Guatemala! Duke surgeons Dr. Henry Rice and Dr. Sherry Ross will be leading this general pediatric surgical mission, which will target the correction of hernias, vascular malformations, urological conditions as well as other life-threatening issues. Working at the Shalom-Moore Foundation in Guatemala City, our team will also be working alongside a local staff of doctors and medical personnel in an educational collaboration, with the goal of furthering a sustainable in-country program. Surgical candidates are being referred from all over Guatemala, and surgeries will take place in 3 operating rooms over 5 days.
