Sreynon's Story:

13-year-old Sreynon from Cambodia loves being with her family and going to school. Unfortunately, she’s been living with a heart defect, which has been making her everyday survival difficult.
So in November 2011, MKI flew Sreynon and her father to India for Sreynon’s corrective, life-saving heart surgery, and today, she is back home, safe, sound and Mended!
Ephrem's Story:

Ephrem did not attend school until he was 10 years old. Instead, he spent his days caring for his younger siblings, and his own fragile body. In 2011, Ephrem came to the U.S. to have the hole repaired in his heart, and now that his heart is healthy, he can finally look forward to his long-awaited spinal surgery in India very soon!
Maely's Story:

13-year-old Maely lives in a small village with her grandparents, uncles, aunts, and two younger sisters, close to the island of Roatan in Honduras. Maely received club foot surgery, as part of our U.S. surgical program, in October 2010. While, she was in the United States, she attended school and she learned some English. Maely loves the many friends she made while in the U.S.
Inga's Story:

6-month-old Inga was brought to the U.S. as part of our U.S. surgical program in November 2011 to repair his severe facial cleft. After staying with host parents for nearly 2 months, Inga was returned home to his overjoyed family on Christmas Island. Since there is only one doctor who serves three islands where Inga lives, it was a miracle that Inga’s condition was brought to the attention of MKI, and that he is mended today.
Elvis' Story:

5-year-old Elvis lives in El Salvador with an inoperable heart defect. Through our generous doctors and donors, Elvis is able to enjoy being a happy, active child, despite his condition. Through the funds raised by the Malibu Guild, and volunteers who bring Elvis’ medicine to his remote village, his health and his life have been indefinitely extended. This little boy truly brings joy to all those he touches.
Yitsak's Story:

At the age of 6 months, Yisak was brought to one of our partners in Ethiopia for care. While being treated for malnourishment, it was discovered that he also had a heart condition that had been holding back his development. At the age of two, Yisak underwent surgery to correct his failing heart, but due to his delicate condition, was unable to pull through, and passed away a few days after his surgery. We will always remember this sweet little boy’s smile, which made everyone around him smile too.
