Hometown Mission

Our Hometown Mission - Los Angeles is typically scheduled to take place in the summer at Memorial Care Outpatient Surgical Center Long Beach. During this one-day surgical mission, our team of board-certified surgeons, recovery nurses and other medical professionals donate their time and skills to provide quality surgical care for up to 20 children.

Please join and support us by referring eligible patients, available medical volunteers, or news platforms that can help us spread the word.
Through our Hometown Mission program, we provide FREE OUT-PATIENT surgeries including orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive, ENT (ear, nose, throat), urology, and general pediatric surgeries.

For more than a decade, Mending Kids has delivered life-saving surgical care to children in developing countries around the world. In 2013, we launched our first US-based surgical mission.

Serving children in Southern California, Hometown Mission: Los Angeles provided a chance at a better life for kids whose conditions have been deemed “non life-threatening” or “elective” by insurance providers. We know that for a young boy with a large hairy nevus on his face, or a little girl in need of cleft-nose reconstruction, who may feel self-conscious or experience bullying as a result of their physical appearance, surgery can be truly life changing.
