Arles, from Nicaragua had a successful surgery at Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena, with one of our amazing volunteer surgeon’s, Dr. Andre Panossian. He will be in a cast for 2 weeks, then he’ll receive physical therapy. We are hoping he will be ready to return home before the holidays.
Erick is our newest Mending Kid. An orthopedic patient from Honduras, who arrived at the end of October. He suffers from a severe spinal condition. However, Erick is a very positive, happy kid and is super excited to be here. He is currently undergoing evaluation at Shriners For Children's Medical Hospital in Pasadena. While there, he is being fitted for a brace and custom wheelchair.
Joan from Uganda had open-heart surgery in Bangalore, India in September. She arrived back home on October 23. Her surgery was a success.
Christian from Uganda is currently in India recovering from his open heart surgery. He was really sick when he arrived so it's taking him a bit longer to heal. He remains in ICU and is being carefully watched over.
